My Training Philosophy
If you want to see a significant gain in your fitness level, you must be working out REGULARLY overloading your muscles so that there is a gradual adaptation and increase in muscular strength and endurance. Continually increasing the demands on the musculoskeletal system to will help you make gains in muscle size, strength, and endurance. Simply put, in order to get stronger, you must continually make your muscles work harder than they're used to!
Personal Training Options
I will create and execute a training plan based on your particular fitness goals. If you want to build muscle, we will hit the weights hard. If you are looking for cardiovascular endurance, we will raise your heart rate with cardio and high intensity interval training. I will tailor your workouts to reach your goals. We can meet at my home or a park to spread out for functional fitness, the track, or a location convenient for both of us. I will start each session with a run/walk, some warm up exercises then work into the main set. We will cool down and stretch at the end of the workout.
Working out with 2 or more people is a great way to hold yourself accountable for your own fitness. Group training is a lot of fun, and generates great results, and helps you challenge yourself in a group setting. I will create a workout to accommodate the ability levels of the group using a variety of equipment and regularly changing up the workout style.
Athletes will love the High Intensity Interval Training workouts I offer. We will most likely workout outside at a park or at the track doing speed, agility, and endurance training. If you have a specific event coming up that you are training for, we can tailor the workouts to reach your race goals.
I am a HUGE fan of the PiYo workout. PiYo is a great total body workout that uses your own body weight to sculpt and lengthen your muscles. It builds upper body, lower body, and core strength like no other and there is an amazing cardio component as well. This program is excellent for athletes, particularly runners and cyclists, who need flexibility in their quads, glutes, hamstrings, and hip flexors.
